Laser Vaginal Rejuvination ® (LVR) for the enhancement of sexual gratification

1. Question: How long does LVR® take to perform?
Answer: The procedure normally takes one hour to one and a half hours.

2. Question: What is the pain like after LVR®?
Answer: Every patient gets a pudenal block after they have their anesthesia of their choice. The puendal block is a nerve block just like one gets at the dentist. It is placed on both sides of the cervix using a long acting medication that results in 18 to 24 hours postop pain control anesthesia. When the block wears off just like at the dentist the patient is provided with Percocet for pain relief and also Valium which is used as a muscle relaxer. Ultimately all the discomfort is in the perineum the area immediately outside the vagina and above the anus. Patients state that it feels like the episiotomy that they had at the time of delivery or an obstetrical tear of the perineum at the time of delivery.

3. Question: When can I return to work?
Answer: You can return to work in 4 to 7 days depending upon the type of physical activity required by your job. Most patients can return to work in seven days.

4. Question: When can I resume exercising?
Answer: It is important that you completely heal. Your body will be healed in six weeks. We recommend that you do not start exercising until after six weeks. Please keep in mind that you will be up working, shopping and doing other routine daily activities rather quickly.

5. Question: When can I resume sexual activity after surgery?
Answer: It is important that you completely heal and you can resume sexual activity in six weeks.

6. Question: What is the main complaint patients have after the surgery?
Answer: The main complaint that patients complain of is constipation because the pain medications are constipating. It is important that you use Colace, which is a stool softener, Fruits, Vegetables and fluids to minimize the problems with constipation.

7. Question: What are the complications of the surgery?
Answer: The main complications of the surgery are bleeding and infection- the incidence of this is less than 1%. Women are concerned about decreased sensation, hyper sensation, in my experience I have not encountered these particular complications. Uncomfortable sex; we take all precautions to ensure that there is no discomfort internally, externally or at the perineum. Our objective is to listen to the patient and achieve she wants.

8. Question: Well it hurt when I resume sex in six weeks?
Answer: After six weeks you are completely healed from LVR®. We recommend for the first several times when you engage in sexual activity that you use a lubricating jelly such as KY jelly. This can help assist in the ease and comfort of sex. Remember that your vaginal and structures have been reconstructed. LVR® increases vaginal muscle tone, contractile force, decrease of the internal and external diameters and it builds up the perineal body thereby enhancing sexual gratification. The vagina is accommodating.

9. Question: I have hemorrhoids, can they be taken care of same time LVR®.
Answer: That hemorrhoid surgery cannot be performed at the same time because the surgeon who performs this procedure wants you to take sitz postoperatively but for the LVR® we do not want you taking tube baths. You can only take showers for six weeks after surgery.

10. Question: How is the laser used for LVR®?
Answer: The laser is used to do all of the cutting and dissecting. Sutures are used to tighten the muscles by bringing them back together.

Designer Laser Vaginoplasty®: Laser Reduction Labiaplasty of the labia minora with reduction of the excess prepuce

1. Question: How long does Laser Redcution Labiaplasty with reduction of the excess prepuce take to perform?
Answer: The procedure normally takes an hour to one and a half hours.

2. Question: What do most women want to accomplish with the laser reduction labiaplasty of the labia minora and reduction of excess prepuce?
Answer: The purpose of the procedure is to provide a youthful look of the labia minora and reduce the excess prepuce the excess skin along the sides of the clitoris. Patients want to have a youthful look of the minora. Patients want the minora nice, thin and perky. Patients do not want sagging, droopy and bunched up minora. Patients want a clean look. Patients also want the excess skin of the clitoris to be sculptured down so that the prepuce hugs the clitoris like a piece of paper draped tightly over a pencil.

3. Question: What is the pain like after labiaplasty with the reduction of the excess prepuce?

There is some discomfort but is not unbearable. Most patients may take minimal pain medication for a few days then stop.

Answer: You can return to work in 4 to 7 days depending upon the type of physical activity required by your job. Most patients can return to work in seven days.

5. Question: When can I resume exercising?
Answer: It is important that you completely heal. Your body will be healed in six weeks. Obviously we do not wanting doing yoga, spinning, cycling or Pilates. We recommend that you do not start exercising until after six weeks. Please keep in mind that you will be up working, shopping and doing other routine daily activities rather quickly.

6. Question: When can I resume sexual activity after surgery?
Answer: It is important that you completely heal and you can resume sexual activity in six weeks.

7. Question: What is the main complaint patients have after the surgery?
Answer: Again this is not a procedure with a lot of pain. At about 10 days some patients do complain of itching of the labia as a result of the healing process and the suture material at the ends of the labia.

8. Question: What are the complications of the surgery?
Answer: The main complications of the surgery are bleeding and infection the incidence of this is less than 1%. Women are concerned about decreased sensation, hyper sensation. In my experience I have not encountered these particular complications. Uncomfortable sex; well we are just dealing with the labia. In regards to scaring, these laser surgical procedures of the vaginal and vulvar structures heal very well.

9. Question: Will it hurt when I resume sex in six weeks?
Answer: In this procedure only the labia minora were treated.

10. Question: How is the laser used for laser reduction labiaplasty?
Answer: The laser is used to do the precision cutting. Sutures are used to re-approximate the tissue edges.

Combination of Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation with laser reduction labiaplasty of the labia minora with the reduction of the excess prepuce (excess skin along the side of the clitoris)

1. Question: Can LVR® be combined with DLV®?
Answer: LVR® can be combined with all of the other DLV procedures including LVR® plus, laser reduction labiaplasty of the labia minora (including prepuce reduction), reduction of the labia majora, autologous fat transfer to the labia majora (for a plumper youthful look), liposuction of the mind pubis and the labia majora and supra public lift to lift the vulvar structures.

2. Question: How long do the combination procedures take?
Answer: The length of the combination procedures are from 90 minutes to three hours.

3. Question: How is the pain after the combination procedures?
Answer: As with all LVR®and DLV® procedures the patients get a pudendal block and there is no pain for the first 18-24 hours. After the block wears off patients will have Percocet to control the discomfort.

4. Question: When can I return to work?
Answer: Based upon your work type of most patient can return to work in 4 to 7 days.

5. Question: When can I return to exercise
Answer: First and foremost it is important that you heal. You can return to your exercise activities after six weeks.

6. Question: When can I resume sexual activity?
Answer: You were completely healed in six weeks and you can resume sex activity at that time.

7. Question: Can I take tube baths, get in the ocean, pool or Jacuzzi ?
Answer: We ask that you refrain from tube baths, pools, oceans and Jacuzzis for six weeks. It is fine to shower as much as you want. You are encouraged to use mild soap and water in the area of the vulvar structures.

8. Question: Can I wear thong underwear and tight jeans or other clothing during the healing.
Answer: We encourage you to wear loose fitting underwear and loose-fitting jeans or pants during the healing period.

9. Question: Should I use any creams in the vulvar area or the Perineal area?
Answer: Do not use any creams are feminine sprays etc. in the vulvar areas.

10. Question: My labia majora are too long and saggy what can be done about it?
Answer: Patients complain of sagging and relaxed labia majora. This can be caused from weight loss, aging, childbirth or a combination of these factors. As a result the labia majora look old and tired.The labia majora can be rejuvenated via two techniques of removing the excess skin and tightening the labia majora. The first technique is accomplished by an incision in the perineum but this is use for cases when there is mild to moderate relaxation of the labia majora. When there is moderate to severe relaxation of the labia majora we use a vertical elliptical incision which takes up the excess top to bottom side to side and the height.

11. Question: How long does the procedure take?
Answer:The procedure that involves the incision in the perineum takes approximately 20 minutes. In this procedure the excess skin of the lower fourth of the labia majora or resected and the muscles of the labia majora pull together in the midline in the perineum. Also the muscles of the perineum are built up as well. For more extensive relaxation we do a vertical elliptical incision and this procedure takes approximately 30 to 40 minutes.

12. Question: When can I resume sex after the labia majora reduction procedures?
Answer: You can't resume sexual activity in six weeks.

13. Question: How bad is the pain after these labia majora reduction procedures?
Answer: Patients are giving a nerve block which is called Pudendal block. It's like what the dentist does when you have dental work. As a result you will be numb for 18 to 24 hours. Afterwards she will have a pain medication called Percocet. These procedures produce mild to moderate amount of pain. The pain medication does control the discomfort.

14. Question: When can I return to the gym after these procedures?
Answer: You can return to the gym in six weeks.

15. Question: When can I return to work after these procedures?
Answer: You can return to work in 4 to 7 days.

16. Question: Can I resume tube baths?
Answer: You can resume tube baths in four weeks. You can shower as much as you want.

17. Question: Are there any sutures to remove?
Answer: There are no sutures to be removed. All suture material used in the procedure are absorbable.

18. Question: Will there be noticeable scars?
Answer: The incision area for the minimal procedure, which is in the perineum, is rarely noticeable. For the more moderate to severe cases of relaxation the incision line is down the midline of the labia majora. The visibility of this incision line when healed depends upon the healing characteristics of each and every patient. In our experience it is minimal visibility.

19. Question: What are the main risks?
Answer: These procedures are very safe. The main risks are bleeding and infection. The incidence of this is less than 1%.

Designer Laser Vaginoplsty®: Supra-pubic lift to lift the vulvar structures

1. Question: Can the supra-pubic lift (lip-tuck) help lift and rejuvenate the aging and sagging vulvar structures?
Answer: The purpose of the supra-pubic is to lift up, tighten and rejuvenate the sagging vulvar structures (labia majora, labia minora, clitoral region and some of the mons pubis.

2. Question: Where is the incision made for the supra-pubic lift and how long is it?
Answer: The incision is made at the top of the pubic bone. The incision is to 2 to 2 ½ inches long.

3. Question: How long this procedure take?
Answer: The procedure takes approximate 30 minutes or less.

4. Question: Can the supra-pubic lift be performed with other aesthetic female genital plastic surgery procedures or other cosmetic surgical procedures?

5. Question: Is the supra-pubic lift very painful?
Answer: Our patients report that the discomfort from the supra-pubic lift is mild and well controlled with the provided analgesic pain medications.

Answer: You can resume circle activity in six weeks.

Answer: You can resume to a bass in four weeks. You can shower as much you want.

Answer: The vulvar structures can't say as result of a number of factors that can of core individually or in combination such as; pregnancies, aging, weight gain and weight loss.

10. Question: After performing the supra-pubic lift could've the relaxation reoccur?
Answer: As stated in Question number eight the main causes are weight gain weight loss and aging. We suggest that you maintain as close to normal/ideal weight as possible through exercise and diet.

11. Question: Does the supra-pubic lift provide a natural appearance of the vulvar structures?
Answer: The supra-pubic lift provides a natural aesthetic appearance of the vulva structures.
